Spoiler: The author shares some of her favorite ideas and stories from her best-selling “Badass” series. She says that we train ourselves subconsciously to have certain habits and that those habits become part of us. Focusing on early morning habits, she says the great thing about early morning is that we’re not yet victims to everything the day will throw at us. If you’re not a morning person, however, it’s best to introduce new habits at the point of day when you’re at your energetic peak.

Spoiler: Although “letting go” is a popular term and concept, the author explains that she much prefers the idea of just letting something be. In other words, observe what is, be grateful for what is, and don’t wish for what isn’t. Included in the video are two women who volunteered to be coached by the author on forming “badass habits.” The author tells one that if you’re trying to get somewhere but you don’t know where you are, you’ll never get anywhere.

Spoiler: If you want to form a new, good habit, try employing something called “the trigger.” That is, create a trigger to push yourself toward the habit that you are trying to form, such as changing your route home from work to cause you to drive past your gym. When you have a bad habit, such as overindulging in sugar, try to identify the thoughts and feelings that accompany that habit and ask yourself if the habit brings any benefits to your life.
